The rural migrant workers change jobs much more frequently today.Looking back on the literature of occupational mobility, there was a lack of studies about how the occupational mobility impact on the income of rural migrant workers. Therefore, this paper attempts to reveals the influence of occupational mobility for the rural migrant workers’income by using the Research of Zhejiang Province Migrant Workers’Employment and Life.Through the summarizing and analysis the characteristics and the current situation of workers especially the rural migrant workers in our country, we can see that there is no obvious difference between2007and2010, more than half of the migrant workers had changed their job after coming where they lived now, and the workers with a registered permanent residence in country have a slightly higher occupational mobility ratio. The occupational mobility varies with heterogeneous rural migrant workers. With the method of instrumental variable, this article takes micro-data of Zhejiang Province to do empirical research on how occupational mobility influence the income of rural migrant workers,To solve the endogenous problem between the occupational mobility and income, this paper introduced whether had sign a labor contract or not as the instrumental variables of occupational mobility. Regression showed that the occupational mobility have a positive impact on the income for migrant workers, and was much more significant than the result of ordinary least-square regression. Ordinary least squares regression showed that the effect of occupational mobility to the income of rural migrant workers was not significant, and the return on human capital is higher for the rural migrant workers who had not been carried out an occupational mobility. We can get conclusions that the occupational mobility can improve the efficiency of the matching between the labor supply and labor demand, and then increase the income of the rural migrant workers. Respectively speaking, the influence of occupational mobility is more significant on the men, worker with a education background lower than junior high school and the manager or technicist. Therefore, the government can raise the income of rural migrant workers by stabilized the employment, increasing the vocational training for rural migrant workers and consummate the labor market.
