| Urban scientific development as a new urban development concept pursues thecomprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of economy, society, population,resources and environment. Improving the urban comprehensive competitiveness is not onlythe deep of implementing the scientific concept of development is the inevitable requirementof, but also the inevitable choice for the cities in China which is walking at the intersection ofurbanization process. Therefore, urban comprehensive competitiveness as the comparisonstandard of the city fundamental competitiveness and city comprehensive strength is animportant problem to the domestic city, which is how to objectively and accurately recognizetheir own advantages and disadvantages in order to adapt to China’s development process andhow to make urban economic development strategy to improve the urban competitiveness.Various cities around the world are committed to improving the urban comprehensivecompetitiveness, in order to occupy a space in the process of economic globalization.First of all, this article reviews about the concept, connotation and typical theory modelof urban comprehensive competitiveness and so on in order to lay a solid foundation forbuilding urban comprehensive competitiveness evaluation index system. Following theprinciples for selecting the index system and combining with the actual development ofHebei’s eleven prefecture-level cities we construct urban comprehensive competitivenessindex system, which covers48indexes about five urban comprehensive competitivenesssubsystems, such as economy, science and technology and talents, social, ecologicalenvironment, opening up and analyzes the changes of comprehensive competitiveness inrecent years and according to the results judge the influence factors of the comprehensivecompetitiveness changes. Then we apply SPSS Statistics17.0software to2009five urbancomprehensive competitiveness subsystems of Hebei’s eleven prefecture-level cities, adoptthe principal component analysis method to calculate the scores and cluster analysis and applyanalytic hierarchy process to calculate the total score of urban comprehensive competitivenessand sort. Finally, according to five urban comprehensive competitiveness subsystem andcomprehensive score points of each prefecture-level city we put forward some advice aboutenhancing urban comprehensive competitiveness in Hebei’s prefecture-level cities.This paper aims to scientifically measure the status of urban comprehensive competitiveness in Hebei’s prefecture-level cities, grasp the development trend of the city,provide a basis for formulating the scientific development strategic planning, in order topromote the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of Hebei’sprefecture-level cities. |
