With the development of science and technology, people’s demand for location related services is increasing day by day. At the same time, people no longer satisfied with the outdoor location service, and also grow with each passing day for indoor location service needs like the airport hall, gymnasium, shopping malls, warehouse and other indoor environment. But for now, the global positioning system based on satellite positioning is unable to provide indoor location service and indoor location has certain complexity. In this context, people began to study the indoor location technology based on the technology of short distance communication, and put forward some system solutions. ZigBee is a kind of short distance wireless communication technology with low rate, low power consumption, high reliability and safety, and is suitable for the design of indoor location system with low cost, low power consumption, long working time, strong self-healing ability.This paper focuses on the LQI indoor location algorithm, based on the analysis of ZigBee technology and its related location algorithm, and proposes a wavelet denoising method to solve the problem that the received values of LQI in the LQI location method are fluctuant because of interference. In order to get the optimal combination of wavelet noise reduction parameters, which is suitable for LQI denoising, the several groups of actual measurement data of LQI is simulated on the Matlab software platform, then the optimal parameter combination of wavelet denoising for LQI signal denoising is determined. Then the relationship between the LQI and the distance is obtained by the curve fitting method, and the distance measurement experiment is carried out.Finally, a indoor location system experimental model is designed to verify the location effect of the LQI location system with wavelet denoising, and the location experiments carried out.The final location results show that LQI indoor location system with wavelet denoising has better location effect and is able to meet the general requirements of the actual indoor location.
