Along with the increase of mining depth, the gas-geologic conditions are becoming more and more complex. Under the influence of the geological structure, such as in fault and mining work, producing many working faces with irregular gas occurrence, increasing the difficulty of gas control. The rapid development of GIS technology provides a new direction and idea for gas control of coal mines. This paper focuses on the application research, on the basis of the implementation of GIS system for complex data sources, large amount of data and strong timeliness gas data for efficient storage, management and visual display, focuses on the research of data statistical analysis, parameter prediction. The main achievements are as follows:(1) By comparing three kinds development mode of the GIS system, and the further research of Arc GIS the mainstream GIS system developing platform, developed the solution of using Arc GIS Engine component, with the component based secondary development pattern to build coal face gas management information system. By discussing the working principle and system structure of the spatial database engine Arc SDE, select Arc SDE mode to integrate the gas geological spatial information and attribute data obtained to the Oracle database.(2) From the viewpoint of system engineering, using the top-down, stepwise refinement method, in detail elaborated the system design objectives, system platform development principles and development strategy, the system platform overall design and development environment, system interface design, system function design, etc.(3) Based on the analysis of data structure of CAD and Arc GIS data format, illustrated the Xinfeng coal mine 25021 coal face gas geological map from CAD to Arc GIS format conversion process. Completed the establishment of the spatial database and attribute database and the database implementation based on Arc SDE.(4) By the contrast analysis, choose the grey prediction model GM(1,1) as the gas parameters prediction model for this system. Through programming custom a series of function embedding into the gas management information system developed, to develop the gas parameter point-wise prediction module, and is verified taking the Xinfeng coal mine 25021 working face as example.(5)With the support of Arc SDE + Oracle background database, using “VS210 + Arc GIS Engine” as front-end development tool, developed the coal face gas management information system platform with VB.NET programming language. Implements the basic operations such as the graphics roaming and translation, eagle eye view, layer management, geography measurement, interactive query, statistical analysis and thematic map analysis, and so on, and take Xinfeng coal mine 25021 working face as example, showed the application of each function in detail. The realization of this series of functions, intuitively and clearly show the gas occurrence condition, especially the parameters prediction function combined with the grey prediction model further reveals the regularity hidden in the data, to provide guidance for the gas precise governance of this region and reduce the blindness of governance. At the same time provides guiding significance for gas control to the similar areas.
