In the view of the aging society, intelligent devices are more and more widely used in the field of industrial automation, which provides the foundation for smart factory. The Iodine-125 sealed seed source automated production line applies the automatic control method in the production process to improve the efficiency and reduce the cost. However, the entire control system has limitations on scalability and flexibility. The lack of standardized information exchange function can not bring an intuitive effect for the production line process control. Meanwhile, the embedded devices do not have access to such functions like automatic discovery and data sharing.This paper relies on the 125I sealed seed source automated production line to complete the design and verification of the information exchange system. The entire information exchange system mainly consists of two parts. One is the human to machine(H2M) interaction which is based on the Siemens TP1500 Comfort Panel to accomplish the HMI(Human Machine Interaction) monitor system, thus completing the information interaction with the PLC controller and improving the ability of user administration, data logging, parameter setting, alarm management and system settings. The other is the machine to machine information exchange system based on Device Profile for Web Services(DPWS). DPWS is an implementation of serviceoriented architecture(SOA), in which devices can be abstracted by web services. It was designed to enable Web Services on resource-constrained embedded devices to improve their flexibility, dynamicity and interoperability with other devices. Firstly, this paper presents the relevant principles in DPWS technology, architecture and workflow. Then elaborates the detailed steps to achieve the functions of automatic addressing, automatic discovery, device description and control and event notification in the whole system. Finally, it discusses the test to validate the entire information exchange system, including test environment, test tools and various test methods and results. In summary, it shows promising practicality and feasibility in 125I sealed seed source automated production line information exchange system.
