With the rapid development of computer technology and Internet technology, the production management of the traditional dairy farm is becoming more and more disadvantage. Using computer technology to complete the production management of the pasture, the automatic completion of the collection and processing of pasture information, is the trend of modern agriculture. So, this paper designs the software of signal acquisition and processing for pasture monitoring system.The signal acquisition and processing software of pasture monitoring system has used C++ Builder Borland 6 as the development environment, with PC as the development of hardware platform. The main content is designi ng serial port class and serial port management class of serial port communication module, formulating communication protocol for the different data about a cow’s relevant information and completing the communication of cow related data; Designing database table class and database class of database module and establishing a database of information on all kinds of dairy cows; Designing a friendly graphical interface for each module of signal acquisition and processing software to that real-time displaying the received serial data, displaying related database table, to facilitating the management and control of software; Using a custom windows messages to formulate the corresponding message parsing protocol and completing the communication between different interfaces; Designing and implementating the related algorithms of cow admission detection and cow physiological detection; Using the wireless data transmission terminal DTU to achieve early warning system for cows, to send a cow alarm information to the staff; Using the INI configuration files to complete the entire software system configuration parameters.Finally, the paper simulated the whole signal acquisition and processing software. According to the results of the simulation test, the whole signal acqu isition and processing software meet the functional requirements of the system.
