Industrial wireless network technology, having high real-time and high reliability of a kind of wireless sensor network technology, can obtain an important control parameter of industrial field and real-time data with lower investment cost, which realizes the monitoring and management of industrial production process. Parallel to reduction of production costs, industrial wireless network greatly improve the production efficiency and bring the industrial field into a new stage of development. The industrial wireless sensor network gateway, as the center of the sensor network and the external network(such as Ethernet), is responsible for industrial field data acquisition and processing. With the in-depth research, network protocol, network topology control, time synchronization, positioning technology, resource allocation and other key issues are all in the research upsurge. Through the research of a kind of system, this paper designs and implements a low cost, low power consumption industrial wireless network gateway with the function of node localization. In addition, the gateway also has the core functions such as resource allocation, topology generation and time synchronization, in which resource allocation function can improve the efficiency of wireless network communication and data transmission, in which topology generation function can form different routing information and improve the link quality, in which time synchronization function is the premise to guarantee the normal operation of wireless network.Firstly according to the requirements of the project, the overall function of industrial wireless network is studied based on wireless network, gateway and remote monitoring center three parts. The overall scheme of the industrial wireless network gateway is defined, and the data communication, protocol conversion and the network management function mainly based on the positioning function are realized. In addition, embedded gateway development platform is build.Then the hardware of the gateway and sensor nodes has been designed and selected. Gateway hardware uses the REAL210 V6.2 embedded development board based on Cortex-A8 core processor, and ARM chip processor has higher data processing speed and function support compared to the 51 Series MCU chip. The sensor nodes use the STM32F103C8T6 microprocessor, in which STM32 series is designed for embedded development of high performance, low cost and low power consumption based on ARM Cortex-0 kernel.Then, network management functions based on node localization is studied and designed, including the time synchronization, topology generation, resource allocation and node localization of the industrial wireless network.Finally, the key function of the gateway is tested. We mainly test the node localization function, including the influence of different node’s distance hierarchy model, hierarchical step distance, communication signal interference and nodes distribution on the function. In addition, we test the accuracy of synchronization scheme and effect of resource allocation function. The test verifies the effectiveness, low power consumption and low cost traits of the gateway function, which can be widely used in equipment location or field data acquisition and monitoring, such as real-time positioning or data monitoring of mobile devices in industrial production areas.
