As the development of micro-electronics and communication technology, sensors with low power dissipation and multiple application prospects has mushroom growth, as a result, wireless sensor networks consisting of sensors emerge at the right moment.Wireless sensor networks(WSN) consists of large amount of sensor nodes randomly and intensively distributed in areas to-be detected, which is a distributed and self-organized network, mainly used to collect and process data in certain locations, where people can hardly arrive due to tough environment with only wireless sensor network can work under the condition. Current study is mainly on location algorithm and routing protocol, together with physical measuring technique-hardware realization.Data without location information is meaningless for specific application. The special application of WSN makes some sensor nodes scattered randomly in certain area by planes, so that it is impossible to directly obtain the location of those nodes. Therefore, it is needed to locate the WSN nodes before application. However, wireless sensor nodes are small and light with limited energy. As a result, the design of location system is confronted with much challenge. The location precision is the first problem to solve, to obtain distance as precise as possible through existing distance measuring model. How to improve the precision of location algorithm with existing model is an urgent problem. Secondly, it is necessary to consider whether the location protocol is in line with characteristics of WSN, such as making the location system work effectively and reducing energy consumptions of nodes. Many algorithms locate with anchor nodes, which have GPS locating devices to provide the location data of nodes. Other unknown nodes locate themselves through information exchange with anchor nodes. The thesis meliorates DV-HOP algorithm in WSN node location. DV-HOP algorithm is a location algorithm that needs no distance measurement, and due to that, it is typical of simple realization and small cost. To improve DV-HOP algorithm, the thesis first studies the advantages and disadvantages of DV-HOP, then, on the basis of its advantages, use TDOA to revise the average skip distance of nodes, and selectively combines anchor nodes in trilateral location to improve the precision. After finishing the melioration of DV-HOP algorithm, simulating tools NS2 is used to compare the meliorated algorithm with the original one, and the comparison result is utilized to improve the performance of the algorithm further. This work is supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China (60970064),National Key Basic Research Program of China(No.2011CB30260 1),Open Fund of the State Key Laboratory of Software Development Environment(No:SKLSDE-2011KF-01)Beihang University,New Century Excellent Talents,China(No:NCET-08-0806),Fok Ying-Tong Education Foundation, China (Grant No:121067),the Fundamental Research Funds for the Central University(2010-Ⅱ-003)and the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China(863 Program)under Grant NO.2009AA043303...
