With the advances in video image processing technology, more and more people put energy into embedded processing moving target detection and tracking of research field.With the development of integrated circuits as well as to improve the manufacturing process, so that the video image processing FPGA performance has been greatly improved,FPGA-based processing speed, parallel processing features, such as the use of FPGA processor for fast moving targets accurately effective detection has a very important value and significance. Due to the low cost of the system, the follow-up design is more flexible,easier to maintain and upgrade features than traditional PC-based video surveillance system has obvious advantages. So, Target detection and tracking based on FPGA has high research value.Based on the FPGA hardware platform, identification and tracking moving targets research. Through the identification and tracking moving objects current status of system development and summarized to achieve two core algorithm based on FPGA moving target identification and tracking moving objects include moving object detection algorithm and tracking algorithms. Optical flow method, background subtraction, frame difference method is usually used in the detection algorithm. Next target detection and tracking methods of analysis, through analysis and comparison, decided to use template matching based background subtraction detection tracking algorithm. According to the system requirements, the paper consists of the following modules: TRDB-D5 M video image acquisition module, SDRAM controller module, data buffer module, image processing module, VGA video output control module, PLL Clock PLL module. The system uses the DE2-115 board, can be very good to complete the processing of video images, each module of the system will be specifically designed.On the FPGA hardware development platform for video image collection, detection of moving targets tracking and display design research. Using EDA tools such as the QuartusII, Modelsim, on the DE2-115 development board on the circuit design of each module design and timing simulation and comprehensive verification code. This system is in a static background, moving object tracking. Through integrated modules to achieve a goal of tracking static background, has broad application prospects.
