With the rapid development of the 4th generation technology, the demand for network carrying capacity and data transfer rate of LTE base station is increasing. Aiming at this scene, this thesis designs and implements an extension for the eNodeB automated test system, JCAT, to control UE,which further improves the base station automation test to enhance test efficiency.This thesis analyzes and studies the development of UE control tools based on the background of JCAT system.According to the actual demand of UE control tools in the field of integrated test for base station, with oriented structure and a combination of object-oriented method, combined with software engineering to the software development process definition, this thesis designs and implements a UE control system. The main contributions of the thesis are as follows:(1) This thesis points out the deficiencies of existing UE control tools, based on the analysis of the JCAT background and existing UE control tool analytical research, as well as the two key problems needed to be solved when extending the JCAT system, one is to realize the automatic recognition of UE, the second is to provide a JCAT call interface.(2) Using the layered design idea, the UE control system is designed to the four layer system structure, including User interaction layer, Server layer, Common layer, and UE handler layer, which improves the system maintainability and reusability. Based on the modular design idea, the UE control system is divided into five modules, including the UE handler module, Common module, Server module, CLI module and GUI module, which reduces the coupling of the system effectively and improves the scalability of the system.(3) This thesis implements the UE control systemwith Java development technologies including JNA, AT commands and RMI. In the way of RMI remote invocation service, the thesis provides an interface to JCAT, which satisfies the demand for JCAT expansion, and further improves the openness of the system.The research of this thesis on the extension of the JCAT system, has been successfully applied in Ericsson LTE base station robustness testing project. Results show that this system provides an effective solution for the extension of eNodeB LTE automation testing system.
