With the development of network technology, distributed system has been widely studied and used. The Publish/Subscribe model, which supports asynchronous and multipoint communication, enables the participants within the communication decoupled from where, when and the control flow, solves the integration and dynamic reconstruction problems of the distributed system. Object Management Group combined characteristics of traditional Pub/Sub model and demands of real-time application, created the DDS(Data-Distribution Service) specification and provided different kinds of QoS(Quality of Service) support, made DDS been widely used in national defense, aerospace as well as other data-intensive fields. However, with the development of DDS-based distributed system, new problems began to appear. These key sectors pay much attention to the performance and reliability of DDS-based distributed system, thus, it should be modeled, simulated and evaluted at the early stage of the software life cycle and in turn to guide the design optimization of the system. But existing research pay little attention to the modeling of DDS-based distributed system, automatic generation of DDS-based system and runtime resource consumption simulation of components which hinder the usage of DDS-based distributed system in specific fields. Therefore, aiming at modeling and simulation problems of DDS-based distributed system in data-intensive real-time fields, firstly, this thesis puts forward a description method to model the system; secondly, based on the characteristic of resource consumption during runtime of the components, the Exponential distribution based CPU consumption model, the Normal distribution based memory consumption model and the I/O consumption model are proposed; thirdly, the interactive model is presented based on program control flow model; what’s more, the method of component auto-generation is formed based on the resource consumption model and interactive model; besides, the prototype system is designed and implemented to support the modeling and the simulation of DDS-based distributed system; finally, some experiments are taken to analyze the scalability of the description method, the correctness and feasibility of the resource consumption model and the background traffic model are also verified. The modeling and simulation method contribute a lot to the design optimization of DDS-based distributed system.
