As one kind of discrete signal, zero correlation zone(ZCZ) sequence pair sets have a wide range of engineering applications in radar, sonar, telemetry remote control and so on. ZCZ sequence pair sets have ideal correlation properties in a certain range. Therefore, the number of ZCZ sequence pair sets are more than the number of ideal sequence pair sets. Zone correlation zone sequence pair sets, which is further expansion of single sequence and sequence pair sets, can provide more number of address codes. As the basic theory of ZCZ sequence pair sets starting spot, further research based on existing results is given in this article and the theory is applied to MIMO radar.First of all, two tectonic methods of aperiodic ZCZ complementary sequence pair sets have been proposed. The first, based on complementary sequence pair sets and aperiodic sequence of almost ideal correlation property, a construction of aperiodic ZCZ complementary sequence pair sets is proposed by utilizing Cartesian product technique. Meanwhile, the method is also suitable for constructing ZCZ complementary sequence pair. Another method is that in conjunction with the orthogonal matrix and the orthogonal matrix pair by the interleaving technique, a construction of aperiodic ZCZ complementary sequence pair sets are proposed. The sequence pair sets are optimal with respect to the bound, and the length of ZCZ can be flexible chosen.Secondly, in conjunction with the concept of the complementary sequence pair sets and the property of general radar ambiguity function, the MIMO radar signal model based on complementary sequence pair sets is established. The ambiguity function of the complementary sequence pair sets derived. Apply what we have obtained to the MIMO radar system through computer simulation. The results of the computer simulations show that the rationality and validity of the complementary sequence pair sets applied in MIMO radar system. Combined with zero correlation zone complementary sequence pair sets for MIMO radar system not only have great theoretical significance but also have the value of engineering application.Thirdly, one tectonic method of ZCZ punctured sequence pair has been proposed. Based on perfect punctured sequence pair and signed shift sequence, a construction of periodic ZCZ complementary sequence pair is proposed by the interleaving technique. Different ZCZ punctured sequence pair can be obtained by selecting a suitable length of the signed shift sequence and the number of ZCZ punctured sequence pair can be expanded.
