Today, information resource occupies a very important position in the enterprise, how to use information resources effectively is one of ways that the enterprises improve their competitiveness manner. Transforming the company’s business data into information resources has been a critical step for the companies. Especially, business data is more vital for the hotel industry. They need to analyze business data and transform them into information resource which is in their favor.The company will then use this information to determine whether they need to add a new hotel in a city, when they need to open some hotel promotions, and they can also find out hotel members’ preferences by the date.Therefore dealing with the business data fast and efficiently is one of the important tasks of the enterprise. ETL tools become the choice of many enterprises for procssing data. ETL is more commonly used in data warehouses, but it is not limited to the data warehouse.ETL is an important part of building a data warehouse, users extract the required data from the data source and clean the data. At last, according to the predefined data warehouse model,users load the data into the data warehouse.After analyzing the research about status of ETL tools and combined with the overall needs and conditions of a hotel, we reconstruct and develop this hotel’s old BI system. According to the company’s existing physical platform architecture, we has been redesigned data design and ETL design. Data design includes introducing new data architecture, data area design,meta-data management and etc. ETL design includes architecture design, data extraction flow design, design job scheduling, exception handling and recovery design and so on. Finally, based on the completion of these designs, we implement the ETL technology for the development of this new system successfully.According to the feedback of this hotel group employees after using the new BI system, the newly developed BI system receives the majority of staff praise. The system solves the problems of the original system, and employees can use the system more intuitively to analysis of data. The operation is also more convenient and the new BI can meet the organization from top to bottom of flexibility.
