Cars have become an indispensable part of daily life. The vehicle electronic equipments provide convenience for people. Car radio system is an important prat of the equipment. With the increasing development of consumer demand and technology innovation, people have put forward higher requirements for the radio performance. At the same time, the customers want to select their own sound style. Therefore, high-performance car audio systemhas become the trend.Firstly, the hardware and software environment of the audio system have been introduced, including vehicle machine and WinCE operating system.Then the I2C communication method of the project has been studied, including designing the interfaces, dividing the data bytes, defining the data format and the devices’addresses. These works are the foundation for the development of the sound system.After that, the specific needs of the system have been proposed. The design has been provided according to the needs.The design of the radio’s modes and tuning functions are presented. The flow charts describe theimplementation of radio function. The following content isthe core of the project:audio processing. Using DSPtechnology to process signals from diverse input sources, include loudness, GEQ, delay lines, DC filter, equalizer and so on. Making the qulity of the sound effects improved significantly.In the end, the test results of the car audio system are provided. The analysis shows that the functions and performances of the system are meeting the design expectations.
