For a long time power factor measurement is mostly adopts the electric linepointer instrument, low precision and does not have the automatic recording function, needs the enterprise electrical timing meter reading record andcompensation. Due to the lack of effective monitoring measures, and someenterprises of the state power interests, compensation equipment is not perfector operation and maintenance personnel lack of responsibility, long time topower factor operation can not be too low to compensate, in order to escape punishment and falsifying records, the electric energy resources suffer a great loss.Based on the most current power factor meter application research and analysis of the present situation, the paper proposed a design scheme of intelligent power factor meter. The control system with single chip microcomputer as control core, combining the detection technology, real-time measurement, digital display and automatic timing print on the power factor, and can increase the controlparameters according to the needs, while the design of a communication modulein the system, can realize remote control and management of the power factormeter. The control part of the whole system mainly AT89S51 as the core, realize the power factor of the storage, display and processing, the application of CS5460A chip sampling current and voltage detection signal, and outputs thesignal to realize the real-time control of power factor recorder corresponding function, the two part in serial communication.It is proved by testing multiple operation, power factor recorder can carry out real-time measurement, digital display and automatic timing print, cumbersome labor can greatly reduce the power operation and maintenance personnel timingmeter reading, printing paper with special printing power sector allotted signedprint, can eliminate the counterfeiting, to achieve effective supervision.
