The Research And Apllication Of Material Master Data Management In Corporations

With the continuous development of economic globalization and information technology, companies are building many information management systems in order to improve company efficiency and market competitiveness. As the data is rapid growth in information systems with the accumulation of time, enterprise big data are becoming a part of business assets. The corporations can timely adjust the strategy of business development and optimize the resource allocation to further improve the market competitiveness through utilizing and mining data assets in the fierce competition of the world.However, enterprise large data assets have the following problems: data missing, incomplete, inconsistent, repeat, etc. Thus, the data management is needed to improve the quality of data assets. Enterprise data is mainly divided into: metadata, master data and business transaction data. Master data is the basis of IT systems of enterprise core business processes involving multiple value chain. In summary, the main data is the focus of data governance.Enterprise master data generally includes: materials, suppliers, customers, financial, and human. Material Master Data is one of the most complex data in the enterprise basic data, and the foundation of ERP system involved in the processes of material management. So it is the key of the master data management(MDM).The main contents of this paper include the following aspects. Firstly, we presented the comprehensive background and research status of the application of master data management. Secondly, we researched the theories of the enterprise master data management, including the composition, implementation methodology and maturity model assessment of the master data management. Thirdly, we designed a set of suitable solution of material master data management on the basis of theoretical research after we analyzed the problems of material master data in the requirement research for J Group. Finally, J Group MDM platform architecture, function module and interface integrated were designed to meet the requirements of the material master data management.
