In recent years, with the rise of cloud computing and network virtualization, TCP/IP interconnection network—the most widely used networking technology in the world today—cannot meet the most demanding computing environments. In this context, researchers have put forward the concept of software-defined network whose core idea is decoupling the control layer and forwarding layer, also it can realize the centralized management by south-bounding interface and provide the north-bounding interface for applications to configure network resources effectively. As a result, it has the possibility of applications innovation by supporting its rapid development and deployment. on the other hands, there exists a poor performance problem on SDN centralized architecture such as complex control logic inconsistency problem such as even a single point of failure.Paper are based cluster technology and distributed technology, using control plane scaling consistency of programs and periodic update algorithm to solve the SDN centralized control architecture which cannot adapt to large-scale networks, the poor network scalability, and logical consistency problem that may exist. Paper combines OpenContrail extensible platform more in-depth to study the SDN control plane extension; and proposed consistency rule algorithm is simple and efficient to solve the problem of consistency which can accommodate expansion SDN scale; Finally verify and analysis the ideas with the actual development work and OpenStack open source cloud platform, which has positive significance for SDN deployment and practical application.We have analyse and discuss several key porblems on the controller extension based on OpenContrail platform and then design a algorithm that updates the control nodes periodically according to the specific event that triggers the change of the network state, which has the advantages of good universality, high reliability and high efficiency. During my internship in CECGW, The author has participated in the National State Program such as designing, coding, and realization, which is the basis of this paper. Based on the actual research work, this paper analyses the key characteristics of forwarding plane, control node, communication and synchronization between nodes, keep-alive detection, and flow lead via OpenContrail platform. On the basis of those work, a logical consistency algorithm is proposed. Then we described the relationship between SDN and cloud computing. Finally, SDN is analysed and the relationship between the cloud and OpenContrail’s role in a cloud environment, and through it with the actual development cloud platform for integration, validation, analysis, mainly to verify the message synchronization between nodes, update process consistency; then compared the single structure and the processing efficiency and extend the platform in detail.
