With the continuous development of embedded system and the wide spread application of FPGA, the System-on-a-Programmable-Chip(SOPC) based on FPGA has get the favor of designers more and more, because of its characteristics and advantages such as flexible design approach, can be cut, upgrade available, software and hardware programmable and so on. The soft-core processor Micro Blaze embedded in FPGA configures in the form of IP core, it can complete the design of the whole embedded system quickly combined with other peripheral hardware devices. In this way, it can greatly shorten the development time of the system and improve the reusability of the resources.Based on the requirement of the modem, the paper designed the hardware platform of the system, researched and designed the human-computer interaction interface based on FPGA, to control the modem by the human-machine interactive operation. The main content and work of this paper includes the following several aspects:First introduce the System-on-a-Programmable-Chip technology, research the architecture of MicroBlaze, bus interface, memory architecture. Then design the system hardware platform based on the requirements, including power module, clock module, SRAM, FLASH, DDR SDRAM memory module, UART interface and the Ethernet interface, keyboard and LCD module. Finally introduce the embedded design process based on EDK, including internal hardware design of FPGA and software design, introduce the content of software design for the human-computer interaction interface in detail, test and analysis the system design. The results show that the human-computer interaction interface can be implemented based on FPGA, and parameters of modem such as modulation mode, code rate and parameters of converter can be selected and configured by the human-computer interaction.
