Video surveillance has been a type of hot application technology,Video surveillance system is intuitive,convenient, rich content and is widely used in various fields. At present,the video codec technology,embedded technology and network technology development make a spurt of progress,the video surveillance from digital video has entered the era of network video surveillance based on embedded network video surveillance technology,advanced performance so that it has a huge potential market and considerable economic benefits, this paper used the network video surveillance system in the disaster rescue robot.The system has two large core functions: one is the video image acquisition and compression, the other is the transmission of video data. Video surveillance system of disaster rescue robot is mainly divided into three parts: the disaster rescue robot video surveillance front- terminal, car central control storage server and the surveillance terminal.This paper structured as follows. Firstly, this paper discussed the development of disaster rescue robot, analysised and comparised the existing network video surveillance technology, integrated the advantages of various technologies, the design of a high reliability B/S architecture of disaster rescue robot of video surveillance system based on embedded Linux and ARM. The main function of the system is consist of video data, compression and wireless transmission, and realizes the video surveillance in the surveillance terminal through browser.Then a detailed description of the whole system has been presented. In the aspect of hardware, the hardware platform of this system includes a digital signal processor TMS320DM365 of TI(the processor is integrated with the ARM kernel and DSP), camera, car central control storage server and the surveillance terminal.TMS320DM365 development board with the camera is made up of front disaster rescue robot of video surveillance system, through the camera to collect video images, TMS320DM365 development board realize the video image compression and transmission;storage server of control vehicle center receives, and stores the image data of disaster rescue robot video transmission and provides access to the surveillance terminal; the surveillance terminal mainly realizes the vehicle center control storage server access, play video and alarm.In the aspect of software, analysis of the different kinds of software architecture, the system selects B/S architecture. In addition, the network transmission protocol for streaming media commonly used RTP, realized the real-time transmission of video data in a wireless network, at the same time, ensured the quality of video transmission.Finally, the safety of disaster rescue robot video surveillance system has been analyzed, including the operating system security and countermeasures in safety network environment application.
