Eye tracking technology, also known as gaze tracking technology, it utilizes a variety of detection means such as electronic means, mechanical means, optical means, to obtain the current state of the eyes of users, and then analyzes the state to obtain the user’s eye gaze position. The purpose of this study is to achieve a non-wearable eye tracking system and use the system to assist to extract the web page concerns; and use eye tracking technology to provide more reliable data for the web usability analysis, and to provide scientific reference for web design. The importance of this study is that the focus on the page when a user browsing the web are the first note of the location of the line of sight and the position where users stay longer. Extracting web pages focus have greater role of data support for usability testing, web design and development, and ultimately will produce better economic benefits. Traditional web concern analysis technology conduct through users’major click when browse the web, it is difficult to analyze the underlying causes of good and bad web design. "Eyes cannot deceive people", eye tracking technology from the perspective of visual information processing, provides a new, efficient way to extract web page concerns. The main contents and methods of this paper include:Firstly, research the principle of human visual mechanisms and the development and methods of eye tracking, then thus determines that the eye tracking system is achieved by pupil-corneal reflection method; in the first development phase of the system, we do detection of parameters of the line sight and extraction of the human eye feature, then do pupil tracking based on particle filter method, then do the gaze direction calculation through position coordinates of the pupil of the eyes and Purkinje spot, at last get the line of sight position on screen when users browse the web, extracting the web page concerns.This study successfully designed and developed a real-time, more accurate non-wearable eye tracking system, and use the system to extract the concerns of users when they browse the web, eye tracking technology will be applied to web pages concerns extraction. At present domestic research on eye tracking and pupil tracking method is not much, behind foreign research progress and results. Using the particle filter method to do pupil tracking is rarely mentioned. The pupil tracking method in this paper based on SIR, added some content in this area. While the design that four near infrared LED light source producing four Purkinje spot, there is much innovation, reduces the difficulty of gaze direction calculation. Meanwhile calculating the gaze direction is achieved by an innovatively of use perspective transformation, that algorithm has high efficiency and low complexity. This eye tracking system has better efficiency and lower cost, meanwhile can do eye tracking in real time and good accuracy. Users can realize the extraction of web pages concerns on a common PC, compared to the past expensive eye tracker, the outcome of this project is easy to be popularized. Because of the unique advantages of eye tracking technology, extraction of web page concerns has great advantage of web page design. This study has a greater reference value for the development and application of eye tracking systems, can provide objective scientific data support for extracting web pages concerns and web page design.
