Power divider has an irreplaceable position in microwave communication system, it has the function of signal power distribution and combination.Power dividers is mainly used in MIMO antenna, RF system terminals, and so on.Traditional power dividers can not adapt to modern communication system due to the limitations of its structure, manufacturing process and working characteristics.This paper put forward a new type of power divider.This power divider has many advantages of its novel and simple structure, ease of integration,it has broad development prospects.The article briefly describes the research background, especially introducing the research status of SIW power dividers. the article introduces the design principle of Wilkinson power divider, and deeply analyzes the structure and properties of dual-frequency power divider, on the basis of the theory, the paper gives a design method of dual-band Wilkinson power dividers.Then the paper focused on the structure of the substrate integrated waveguide and its transmission characteristics, and theoretically analyzes the performance characteristics of SIW, it provides a basis for actual design.Based on the traditional T and Y type SIW power divider, it provides a similar circular hexagonal structure of Y type power divider, it has smaller size and compact structure, greatly reduced the size of the circuit.In addition to in-depth analysis for inductance column structure’s radius size on power divider,it can influence the return loss, and according to the result of optimization,we redesign the compact power divider, the simulation result show that the performance of the power dividers have improved significantly,the reture losses down to-15dB of 60% bandwide.At the same time, on the basis of the above structure, we design a slotted SIW power divider, it not only to further improve the transmission performance, also increased the power divider’s working bandwidth.Finally, the paper puts forward a new type of SIW power splitters, bandwidth for 10.6 GHz to 13.3 GHz, and the return loss are both under-10db.
