With the advent of the era of new media, ‘sound’, which suffered from being at the subordinate position under the ‘vision hegemony’, is now coming back. The major characteristics of auditory media, its accompany, imagination and privacy help build up an ideal auditory space which is private and reflective for the audience. Benefit from the innovation of technology, the diversification of network platform as well as sound recording and processing technology give clients equal discourse and enable their opportunities of self-understandings and self-expressions. It is in this era that appears groups of people making and recording sound within the network platform. And they are the ‘audiocast’. With the application of mobile radio station, it can be easy to create private radio station and then give out a network radio drama through group recording and editing. The new booming group of audiocast are changing former understanding of voice by creating their own auditory symbol and expressing their view.The first part of the thesis mainly analyzes audiocast through elaborating its origination, group characteristics and performing environment; then textual analysis is used to classify various works of audiocast into concept; the third part is to inspect how the work of audiocast form and its making process, from the mere idea to detail producing and to the final releasing and communicating; last but not least, the fourth part proceed with post-subculture, aiming to analyze the motivation of participation of audiocast and further, the concrete cultural meaning and effects of audiocast activities.
