Along with the accelerating urbanization and the rapid growth of car ownership, traffic problems caused by huge traffic demand emerge in endlessly. The disadvantages and limitations of the traditional intelligent transportation system were constantly exposed; The concept of "Internet+" promoted the emerging technologies such as mobile internet, cloud computing and networking combined with the intelligent transportation system. Cars have become an important entrance of mobile internet, which has gave birth to the vehicle networking and other emerging industries and brought the dawn on the solution of the problem. This paper combines Telematics with mobile intelligent terminal such as mobile phones and tablet, and designs in-car application platform based on Telematics, which emphasize the interaction between people and cars and can provide different levels of traffic service.This paper first analyzed the current development trends and existing problems in Telematics; Then the construction of in-car application platform was designed according to the current situation, and characteristics of in-car application platform were ayalyzed. Several key techniques used in the development process of platform were introduced, and new characteristics of IEEE802.11p protocol were analyzed in detail. Compared with previous terminal platform in Telematics that used 3G communication between car and road, the dedicated short range communication technology based on IEEE802.11p was used in this thesis. Then the on-board unit of application platform was designed, and the appropriate hardware development environment was selected. Meanwhile, operating system was transplanted on the board and the IEEE802.11p protocol driver of OpenWrt environment was transplanted. The intelligent terminal device based on Android was selected on terminal platform. The architecture of terminal platform application was designed, and modules were realized. The unified data format and call interface based on operating system platform was realized through to the encapsulated in this layer for the upper application, which hide the underlying communicaition details. Finally we designed and set up the traffic application scenarios based on the designed platform, and it was tested and validated in a real environment.
