Since the concept of cloud computing was put forward in 2007, its business model has been widely recognized and applied in the industrial field, which has led to a new technological change and a new IT service model. The private cloud with its security, controllability and effective use of resources and other characteristics, has become the basis for a number of enterprises have built cloud environment. However, how to monitor the physical machine and virtual machine timely and effectively to detect and eliminate the faults in time became the key problems. So OpenStack open-source cloud platform came into being, But the monitoring function of the Ceilometer project itself is not perfect, only provides monitoring of the virtual machine, and not to monitor the physical machine. Based on the above problems, this paper designs and realizes the information monitoring system in the private cloud environment.Based on OpenStack cloud platform and the desktop virtualization system, this thesis first analysed the monitoring needs of the information monitoring system, completed the design of the monitoring function of OpenStack Ceilometer: the monitoring information of virtual machine by Ceilometer with its own function to obtain and the monitoring information of physical machine it is based on the Ceilometer physical machine monitor the acquisition module, transmission module, storage module of the three parts of the design to complete the acquisition of information; second according to the alarm system needs to complete the design of alarm monitoring module of the physical machine; finally, according to the design and implementation of information monitoring system.The information monitoring system provides a set of visual data display and analysis of the interface for the cloud platform operators, for staff to quickly locate the fault position and exclude the fault timely and effectively, provide some protection for the desktop virtualization system daily operation and maintenance, meeted the monitoring demands of the EPRI of cloud platform system, and made up and improved the monitoring function of Ceilometer OpenStack, provides reference value for other similar systems.
