The estimation of signal parameters is an important research field of signal processing. Besides minitary, it finds wide applications in many fields, such as communications, localization, seismic surveillance, etc. So, its study and realization are of great value. In this thesis, methods of signal’s frequency and DOA(Direction of Arrival) estimation is studied, and also realized and verified on USRP(Universal Softerware Radio Peripheral)platform. The main work can be summarized as follows:1.USRP the softerware-defined radio platform and hardwares on it are introduced.Low-IF receiver and transmitter based on USRP are introduced and the details of how USRP processes signal are explained. Besides, GNU Radio, softerware tool-package used in experiments, is introduced. How it processes digital baseband signal is explained and important modules are introduced.2.The theory of signal parameters estimating is introduced. Estimating methods of signal’s frequency and direction are studied. In frequency estimation, classical PSD(power spectral density) estimating methods, methods ultilizing parametric model, mvdr estimating method and methods ultilizing signal subspace are introduced. In direction estimation, concept of spatial-spectrum and DOA estimating are explained. Interferometer direction finding is analyzed and compared.3.Realizing signal frequency estimating use USRP and computer, several estimating method are verified and analyzed. DOA estimating is realized using multi USRP. Direction finding experiment is operated and estimating result is demonstrated and analyzed.4.By realizing signal frequency and direction estimating, a way of signal parameters estimating based on USRP platform is explored.
