MIMO radar structure arises at this new ECM environment. By using multiple-input multiple-output technology, MIMO radar acquires many distinct advantages such as weak target detection, strong anti-jamming capability, which has made it a focus of research in radar. Considering its military threat to the future battlefield, many countries have begun to research on jamming of MIMO radar. Among many aspects of jamming issue, one aspect like exploring the weaknesses of MIMO radar and adopting accordant method to interfere MIMO radar will become a significant research subject. This thesis focus on the active jamming issue of co-located MIMO radar. First, the principle of co-located MIMO radar is studied, based on the principle and characteristics, the susceptible weaknesses of co-located MIMO radar is analyzed from three different perspectives. Then studied suppressive and deceptive jamming methods which are related to the weaknesses of co-located MIMO radar, at last, after analyzing how the jamming work and it’s jamming effect, the validity of these methods is verified with simulation. The main content of this thesis is as follows:1. Research on the structure and features of co-located MIMO radar, analyzed the match-filtering and beam-forming process in MIMO structure, compared the similarities and differences between MIMO radar and normal radar, and derived the ambiguity function of MIMO radar in detail, all above makes the basis of further study on weaknesses of co-located MIMO radar.2. From the perspectives of the system characteristics, signal structure and echo signal processing, the susceptible weaknesses of co-located MIMO radar is analyzed, like echo pulse envelop migration while doing long time energy accumulation, low signal-to-noise ratio(SNR), target resolution depends on the orthogonality of transmitting waveform, likely to create false target, and so on. This part lays the foundation of further study on jamming of MIMO radar.3. Based on the weaknesses of co-located MIMO radar, suppressive jamming methods are studied, like noise frequency spot jamming, noise convolution jamming and presented a method called sub-pulse grafting. After analyzing the interfering mechanism and how the jamming signal generated, the availability of the proposed methods are demonstrated by simulation results.4. Deceptive jamming methods are studied in this part. Analyzed the mechanism and interfering effects of methods like Intermittent-Sampling Repeater Jamming based on MIMO ambiguity function, angle deceptive jamming, range gate pull off jamming and random pulse width jamming. And the jamming effectiveness is verified with simulation results.
