After oral treatment, maxillofacial sclerous tissues will change with the passage of time. Facial soft tissues will also change. Changes in soft tissues appear more intuitive, they express the degree of appearance of the face directly. So the measurement of facial soft tissues is very important for dentists and researchers. The detailed eigenvalues are the representation of facial features. They cannot only provide a reference for doctors to choose the appropriate treatment options, but also can be used as the therapeutic evaluation after treatment.Current soft tissues measurement methods will either lose a lot of three-dimensional information, or the image is not clear enough, texture is not rich enough with the limitations of photographs, X-ray, CT and other measurement technologies, thus affecting the measurement accuracy. With the three-dimensional reconstruction technologies gradually enter into the medical field, it was found that they can obtain a three-dimensional model to meet medical needs. But it does not have a set of feasible oral soft tissues measurement standards. Therefore, propose a universal set of standards for oral soft tissues measurement and apply to the actual systems, which is an effective method to solve the problem.Based on the actual needs of soft tissues measurement in the field of oral, this paper proposes a set of measurement standards for oral facial soft tissues. These standards contain 17 markers, 27 linear measurement items and 5 angle measurement items. At the same time, we used this system to image the normal Chinese men and women to generate a realistic three-dimensional face model. Then use the set of measurement standards to measure and analyse facial differences between men and women. We found there may be a statistically significant difference on men’s nose, cheeks, and mentolabial sulcus compared with women. At the same time, it proves that there is a certain feasibility of the measurement standards.A three-dimensional surface imaging mobile application system for oral is constructed based on the research of facial soft tissue measurement standards. The system includes a three-dimensional face imaging module, a remote server module, a patient module and a doctor module. Except meet the basic needs of three-dimensional soft tissue measurement, we also provide three-dimensional model generation, view of three-dimensional model on mobile devices, patient registration, patient-patient communication, doctor-patient communication, knowledge push and other basic functions.
