In the 21 st century, China’s higher vocational education has made significant development, the enrollment head count of students in higher vocational and technical colleges has currently accounted for half of the student enrollment in higher education. The same increase of student enrollment has also been witnessed in Yangling Vocational & Technical College since 1999, when the college upgraded from a vocational school to a college. By the end of 2015, there were nearly 20,000 registered students in Yangling Vocational & Technical College, which inevitably poses a great challenge to day-to-day student management. In order to incarnate the essence of the documents on the development of modern vocational and technical education issued by the Third Plenary Session of the Eighteenth CPC Central Committee, cultivating high-quality skilled talents and serving the development of the national social and economic development, a reform of talent training schemes has been initiated in Yangling Vocational & Technical College, aiming at promoting its development, students’ morality, and graduates’ employment. In the new training schemes, the curriculums are composed of four types of courses, namely core curriculum, specialized courses, interest-oriented courses, and innovation-and-enterprise-education courses. Moreover, students’ comprehensive quality will be assessed as a formative assessment in various courses on daily basis. Therefore, how to collect, process, and evaluate students’ daily behavior events by information technology emerged as a pressing problem. In light of the extant literature and designs of management system of students’ comprehensive quality the present study aimed to develop an efficient student daily management information system based on B/S structure. The system generated is intended to evaluate students’ comprehensive quality through a series of modules, including students’ information management, students’ daily-behavior-event documentation and quantification, and assessment of their comprehensive quality. The system was designed by MVC model, adopting Java language, JSP model, open-source MySQL5.0 database, Tomcat6.0, and the most widely used Java EE system development environment, SSH framework. By using stratified sampling and analytic hierarchy process to analyze the groups of student school performance documented and then classified according to the four types of courses in the new curriculum, the weight index system allows a quantitative assessment of students’ daily school behaviors. A two-level weight index system for students’ daily behavior events was also developed to effectively quantify and assess students’ daily behaviors in day-to-day student administration and management.By simplifying the complicated process of documenting and evaluating students’ school performance, and improving the efficiency of student management, the designed student daily management information system would contribute to the strengthening of the college’s student management services and the education quality. Students can also have an easy access to this user-friendly software system, which would promote their self-reflection, self-discipline, and ultimately their comprehensive development.
