With the expansion of the national smart-grid, the accuracy of electric energy metering has received increasing attention. Although the amount of electricity consumption can calculate by the remote meter reading technology, the sources of the data are not reliable because the operation condition of the electric energy metering device cannot be measured. In recent years, there emerge various ways of electricity power stealing which affect the operating state of the electric energy metering device in different ways in order to steal electricity. Ferromagnetic electric stealing is a common stealing electricity method. It cannot be detected easily. Therefore, a simple, effective method is urgently needed to detect the ferromagnetic electric stealing.For the purpose of power stealing prevention, Power Stealing Monitoring System Based on FBG Sensor is designed. Based on Fiber Optical Grating Sensing Principle and Magnetostrictive Effect, and pasting fiber grating on the GMM as the sensing probe. Measuring wavelength variation of grating reflection spectrum by electricity monitoring system, then calculate the size of the magnetic field. The main contents are as follows:Firstly, a design method of the magnetic field sensor is presented. The Giant Magnetostrictive Material is chose according to the Curie temperature and the magnetostriction of the material.Secondly, the performance of the designed magnetic field sensor is tested. Experiments are done about Fiber Grating coating influences its strain characteristics, and static and dynamic characteristics of the sensor. The test results show that the sensor have good accuracy, fast response and good repeatability, and can accurately measure the change of magnetic field.Finally, a Fiber Bragg grating magnetic field monitoring system based on GMM is given in this paper. On the basis of briefly introducing the whole system solution, the system’s hardware scheme is presented, and useing high-speed acquisition and processing programs to deal with rapidly changing alternating magnetic field. The hardware of the system uses FPGA as its main control chip and uses the fast fiber grating demodulation module and USB communication mode. GPRS is used for data transportation. After the software design is completed, through simulation and testing, the system proved stable, and able to accurately measure changes in the magnetic field.The designing and implementation of Fiber Bragg grating magnetic measurement system can solve the difficult problem of stealing monitoring better, provide a reliable solution for monitoring magnetic stealing, reduce the workload of trelevant personnel when monitoring stealing, improve accuracy of energy measurement. This system has a good practical value in engineering.
