"Science a nd technology is productivity, and it i s the firs t productive force".Indust rial production and daily life a re more and more di gital and intelligent with the deve lopment of sc ience and t echnology. Sci enti fic, accurate and real-time on-line monitoring i s playing an more and more import ant role i n industrial pr oduction and life.Optical fibe r sensing technology originated in the 20 th century. Along with the rapid deve lopment of lase r technology a nd optical fiber communication technology, optical fiber sensing has entered the golden per iod of development. In 1978, Hill used the s tandi ng wave met hod made the worl d’s first permanent fiber Bragg grating in the germa nium doped fiber. Fiber Bragg grating sensing technology becomes an important direction of the development of the optical fiber sensing t echnology. Compared with the traditi onal electronic sensors or mechanical sens ors, fi ber Bragg gr ati ng sensors have ma ny ad van tag es, smal l volume, li ght weig h t, resistance to electromagn etic int erf erence,high se nsitivity, corrosion re sistance, suitable for complex condi tions, has a broad application prospect.Fiber Bragg grating sensors have incomparable advantages over other types of s ensors in the fi elds of energy, it has t he el ect r omagnetic interference resistance,corrosion resistance, passive compone nts, it i s suc h suitable for using in mine, oil fi eld,oil tank, generator set, power tra nsformer sta tion as so on. Thi s paper introduces the current situation of t he development of fiber Bragg grating sensing technology, and applications. Secondl y, thi s paper discus ses the principle of fiber Bragg gr ati ng sensor,intr oduce several typic al enca psulated way of fiber Bragg grating sensor. The paper research a kind of optica l fiber Bragg grating liquid level sens or which is applicable t o oil tank. Moreove r, a kind of optical fiber Bragg grating t emperature sens or is raised i n this paper, which is s uitable for generat or. This paper is mainly doing :(a)Resea r ch a kind of opti cal fi ber Bragg grating sens or which is applied to use liquid level measureme nt of oil tank. Analyze strain propert ies and temper ature compensa tion of FBG liquid level sensor. This kind of struct ure can improve the s ensitivity, and el iminate the impact of stra in. FBG liquid level sensor using no- gel enc apsulation technology solves the probl em of zero drift which is caused by age.Pressure experiment, and tempe ratur e compensation experiment, has proved FBG liquidlevel sensor has high precis ion and good t emperature compensating feature.(b) Research a kind of fiber Bragg gra ting non-meta l tempera ture sensor which i s s uita ble for temperat ure me asurement of generator. I ntroduce its sensing principle and its structure. FBG non-meta l temperature sensor i s procee ded ste ady sta te a nd transient temperature conduction simulati on by using finite element analysis software. The s imulation results prove that t he FBG non-metal temperature sensor can accura tely measur e the temperatur e, and has the high response. Some experiments include,temperat ure calibra tion experiment, temperature r esponse experiment, vibration expe riment, and tensile experiment. FBG non-metal temper ature s ensor can effectively monitor the generator t emperature, has been proved FBG non-metal temperature sensor has good measuri ng pr eci sion, r esponse spe ed, insensitivit y of vi bration and strai n.
