With the rapid development of information industry, Vx Works operating system is more widely used. With the increasing demand for graphics, the demand of people cannot be satisfied by traditional graphics display program. Based on Loongson 2H platform, the performance of graphics would be improved tremendously by hardware acceleration in VxWork. By this means, the advantage of Loongson 2H platform could be fully played. Therefore, it will contribute to popularize and apply Loongson 2H platform to military market, which has positive influence to power Chinese military.This thesis will focus on Loongson 2H processor. The Loongson 2H processor is a domestic processing chip which has independent intellectual property. This kind of chip can be not only an independent Central Processing Unit (CPU), but a bridge chip. It can be widely used in military embedded systems with high performance and low power consumption. Loongson 2H processor is integrated within the GC1000 graphics core which can significantly enhance the graphics display and provide users with better graphics experience. The main work and research results are as follows. Firstly, the working principle of graphics card and software architecture system under VxWorks graphics system were researched and analyzed. Secondly, the drivers were developed to implement the hardware acceleration mechanism under Loongson 2H platform, to achieve accelerated graphics rendering, blitting and filling function. Finally, a test program was compiled in order to evaluate the effect of acceleration. The results showed that the hardware acceleration scheme in this research has an excellent performance on acceleration and the characteristics of low cost and good effect.In this research, the graphics hardware acceleration could support all kinds of image applications on Loongson platform fluently which can not only improve the graphics display, but effectively reduce the burden and improve utilization of processor. Furthermore, it will strength the competitiveness of products on Loongson 2H platform. This research will play a role in promoting domestic platform, graphics architecture versatility. At the same time, it will provide reference to other platforms transplantation, reduce development costs and shorten development cycle.
