Along with the development of internet of things, smart cities, triple play, cloud computing and other emerging information technology, the requirement for high speed information transmission is higher than before. Optical transmission network, as the foundation to provide reliable transmission, develops fast. Meanwhile,the operation cost is getting higher and higher, the manifestation as follows:intricate of transmission lines and a larger number of add/drop node emerge with high frequency. Therefore, telecom operators requires the optical transmission network can satisfy the characteristics of scheduling wavelength flexibly so as to realize the communication of low cost,high efficiency and capacity. And there are new requirement for scheduling and allocating wavelength flexibly. From the above requirements, multi-dimensional re-configurable OADM technology came into being and we can use the wavelength selective switching technology to achieve colorless, directionless, wavelength flexibly scheduling.A very important optical simulator is VPI transmission maker and most of the universities and enterprises have installed this light software, but the software function is complex,building new module is very difficult, so it is significant to describe the process of the simulation.In this paper,we summarize the optical fiber communication technology and ROADM development firstly and then simulating 100G optical transmission system based on four-dimensional ROADM, such as 80 waves 100G PDM-QPSK emission system and ROADM system. In order to improve the efficiency of the simulation,the test of the simulation divide into two parts:we firstly test the function of colorless, directionless, scheduling wavelength which are easily measured and then test the situation that ROADM is introduced in the optical network which is difficult to measure. The results show that the feasibility of the photo-electronic device in scheduling wavelength flexibly and ensuring the OSNR.In this thesis, VPI simulation software is used to build the optical transmission system platform. The following work has been completed:1 Simulation and performance testing of the optical transmitter of 80 wavelength 100G system.2:WSS (wavelength selective switch), wavelength division multiplexing, ROADM integrated simulation and testing.The character of wavelength division multiplexing, colorless, directionless, wavelength scheduling flexibly verify the feasibility of this device.3:Building and testing the existing optical transmission network,making the OSNR of simulation is higher than the technical requirement of 100G wavelength division multiplexing system.4:The four-dimensional ROADM is introduced in the optical transmission network, and the feasibility of the device is verified by testing OSNR.
