Power line carrier communication technology is a kind of communication mode which uses power line to transmit data and voice signals.The principle of power line carrier communication technology is that high frequency signal carrying information is loaded on the current signal, then the signals is transmissed by power lineion, the modem of receive information through the current separation technology to obtain the high frequency signal which sent to computer or telephone, so as to realize the information transmission.Nowadays, although this technology is gradually mature, but there are still shortcomings in some specific application environment, especially in the industrial level of data transmission.In this paper,development history and research status of power line communication at home and abroad are investigated,the communication standard of power line communication technology is analyzed,the basic principles of power line communication technology are described, the advantages and disadvantages of power line carrier technology are emphasized, the power line modulation which used in communication techniques is classification described, the principle,scope and feature of different modulation modes are discussed. Meanwhile,the general characteristics of the power line channel is summarized, the low-voltage power line channel model is given.This paper qualitative analysis the various factors influencing the low-voltage power line channel characteristics using the domestic and foreign advanced specific experimental data, and further study the low-voltage power line impedance characteristics, attenuation characteristics, interference characteristics.In this paper,we designs a power carrier module which is suitable for industrial control low speed data transmission through studying the power line carrier communication technology and the actual problems faced by industrial control data transmission.The core of this module is power carrier chip PL3170,the peripheral circuit of the core chip is focus designed,and the software is programmed in order to realize the control of power carrier module,eventually the communication performance of the power carrier module is tested and obtain relatively good received waveform,the design of the power carrier module is verified feasible, and has certain practical value.
