In this paper, connection with the actual needs of enterprises in their process of inventory management, design and develop the warehouse management information system(WMS). In an existing warehouse management software, optimized the storage and retrieval system(AS/RS) by algorithm. Through comprehensive analysis and comparison the optimization work carried out in the storage areas, An appropriate algorithm should be introduced to achieve the optimization of storage and retrieval process in the WMS. Thus the storage and retrieval efficiency can be improved obviously and the cost of business generated can be decreased. Thus, design the storage management software to meet the needs of modern enterprise to improve the efficiency of warehouse management at a certain level. And reduce the costs in entire producing process. It’s very important for the modernization of enterprise. Main works in this thesis as following:Frist, In consideration of the real situation of Qing Da Tian Da optoelectronics Technology Co. Ltd. Analyzed some kinds of problems exist in the work of warehouse management. Further, modules on warehouse management information system has been designed in detail.Second, Using genetic algorithm toolbox in Matlab, research the path in storage and retrieval process, through establishing the mathematical model, optimize the mathematical model by genetic algorithm. In the optimization of storage process, in combination the turnover of goods with shelf stability, optimize coordinate of goods in the storage spaces. Storage and retrieval time has been significantly shortened. Shelf stability has been upgraded. Similarly, when picking goods out the warehouse, walking distance of the sorting equipment significantly shortened, time wasted has also been shortened.Third, Database has been designed in detail in the warehouse management information system. Through its structural analysis, E-R diagram design and logic design, obtain various database tables.Finally, Developed the warehouse management information system.
