A Study On Legal Deposit System Of China‘s Digital Publications

With the development of Internet and information technology, not only the type and quantity of digital publications are increasing but also its concept and the scope are expanding as well. As integral part of the national cultural heritage, digital publications should be conserved and continued permanently; citizens should own the right to have access to cultural heritage freely. Legal deposit system is an important guarantee for human intelligence dissemination and archiving.This thesis makes a research on legal deposit system of China‘s digital publications, mainly divided into five parts:The first part introduces the background and significance, the current research situation, the innovative point and the research methods of this thesis.The second part distinguishes the concept and the main types of digital publications. Then the paper introduces the current situation of legal deposit system both in China and abroad, analyzing the content of legal deposit system at the same time.The third part analyzes the legal deposit current situation of China’s digital publications from various aspects and summarizes its problems.The fourth part mainly analyzes the tendency of legal deposit system of China‘s digital publications in the future. From the perspectives of legal deposit legislation, legal deposit management and the preservation and usage of legal deposit, this paper refers to the achievement of legal deposit system in China and abroad in order to make recommendations for solutions to the current problems.The fifth part is the conclusion, summarizing the whole research and pointing out the inadequacies of the thesis.
