Uncooled infrared imaging system because of its small size, low power consumption, high reliability, low cost, etc. become one of the hotspots in the field of thermal imaging. And it has a wide range of applications in the military and civilian fields. In the broader civilian fields, infrared thermal imaging products are becoming increasingly popular. Therefore, the subsequent development based on the infrared detector will be particularly important. The infrared products of intelligence, portability and high experience level will become the market leader.WiFi is one of the current major wireless access standard, and it has lots of advantages, such as high speed, high reliability, high flexibility, long transmission distance and anti-interference ability. WiFi technology is integrated in traditional infrared imaging system which can realize remote control and imaging, increase the working range of the system and reduce the physical line restriction. Thus, the infrared imaging system which combining the mobile terminal will be more intelligent and portable, and have a high degree of user experience. This article aims to implement software design for the control of infrared camera based on WiFi. By analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of several current major short-range wireless communications technology and the actual situation of infrared imaging system, this paper uses WiFi technology to the infrared imaging system terminal linked with the mobile terminal for realizing real-time control, image transmission, video display, etc. This system uses the client/server structure. The server is set up in the PC terminal based on Windows platform, and the client is set up in the mobile phone terminal based on Android platform. The client is linked with the server by a connection-oriented and reliable data transmission line based on TCP/IP protocol. The main functions of the server are infrared image data acquisition, image processing, and real-time image transmission, and the client mainly includes the image real-time receiving, video display and human-machine interaction interface design. The mobile phone sends the control code to the server by using the application, and the server receives and analyzes the control code, then makes the corresponding functional response, such as two-points correction and pseudo-color processing. Finally, the processed image data is transmitted to the mobile phone and displayed in real time. In order to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of infrared image transmission, the paper uses a data compression algorithm and image stitch algorithm. Aiming at the disadvantages of the traditional blind pixel compensation algorithm, the paper proposes a blind pixel compensation algorithm based on Newton interpolation which can keep the edge and detail information of image better. Finally, the paper designs the infrared control software of the above characteristics based on WiFi. Through the experimental verification, the server and the client can achieve all the functions. The image is complete and clear, and the size is 320×240, and the average transmission rate is about 16Mb/s, 27 frames per second, which meets the real-time requirement.
