As the most important equipment in the production line of electronic components, the placement machine can run automatically. It has a broad prospect for mass production. Memory data system optimization has greatly improved the efficiency of Surface Mount Technology(SMT) software. So as to improve the level of intelligent machine, this paper selected six head gantry placement machine as the research object. After introducing the present situation of surface mount technology and application of the placement machine, this paper introduces the design of the software architecture and relevant modules. Specific work of this paper is as follows:First, it takes Model-View-Controller(MVC) and Component Object Model(COM) to design the architecture of placement machine. This system has more functions, scalability and stability, comparing to the software of domestic placement machine.Second, it adopts the current mainstream components to achieve classification, and design the component data sheet. On the basis of the classification list, it selects the reasonable database software and realizes the relevant database drive.Third, it designs the interface of component management system. The management system interface has clear structure, strong expansibility and convenient operation.Fourth, it completes the design and implementation of the component database management system of the placement machine. Each module in the system uses a modular design, to ensure the independence between the modules. This paper pays more attention to the design and implementation of component database.Fifth, it details the design of the client and server pattern in the component database management system. The client uses the Microsoft Foundation Classes(MFC); the server side uses the component. It takes connection pool technology and agent technology in the design of connection between the client and database, so as to reduce the consumption of system resources.Finally, it uses Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and mysql database to develop the component database management system of the placement machine software based on object-oriented design. The software system has a lot of advantages in low coupling, portability strong, and cross-platform.
