In the power system, transmission line shouldering the role of power transmission, its quality plays a vital role. When a transmission line failure, if you can quickly and accurately find the point of failure, and permanent fault point for quick fixes, but to eliminate the defects, can effectively prevent failures from happening again. Currently it offers more precise ranging system is mainly based on the traveling wave method. But with the rapid development of science and technology and the continuous reform of the electricity system, most of the traveling wave ranging system are more or less exposed some shortcomings, many ranging system does not use a database management system, when people need the data when queried and analyzed, it will bring a lot of trouble; at the same time, due to the function of the system are concentrated on a single machine, operation and maintenance personnel can quickly and accurately to other master precise inquiry, can not meet the operation and maintenance demand.In this thesis, the principles of traveling wave fault location system technology are briefly described, focusing on the accuracy of most of the current traveling wave distance measuring device and the high cost of the status quo is not enough to study, through the use of currently available ranging principle and wavelet transform combining research focuses on the performance and range accuracy ranging, while the transmission line traveling wave ranging program of traditional C/S model and based on the novel based on B/S mode traveling wave is measured from the system is analyzed. Focus on system architecture C/S mode and B/ S mode of combining development. The advantages and disadvantages of the traditional C/S model is analyzed, its main strong interactive performance, more secure access mode, fast response speed of the system, to achieve the appropriate permissions to management and the ability to handle huge amounts of data, and therefore the host machine design, in order to retain its relevance has advantages, we continue to retain the architecture.
