With the rapid development of communication technology, ushered in the arrival of the era of cloud computing and big data. The communication data flow of each big data center rises exponentially. Therefore, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Alibaba and other Internet giants to develop their own data center needs massive, short-range, high-speed communication systems and components to give a great deal of attention. It is the demand of data center for optical communication, which has greatly promoted the enthusiasm of researchers for multimode fiber, short distance and high speed broadband transmission technology. Therefore, the for multimode dispersion compensation fiber, multimode fiber mode crosstalk and single-mode optical signal in multimode optical fiber transmission and other hot issues of theoretical study and experimental verification. The research has important theoretical significance and practical value.The main contents and innovations of this paper are as follows:(1) The mode dispersion compensator which satisfies the specific requirements is designed. The aperture of the mode dispersion compensator is optimized. By means of the optical means of information transformation, the normalized intensity distribution of the beam is calculated by means of the different circular hole dispersion compensator. The transmission system is built, and the performance of the compensator is analyzed deeply and the power cost of the system is obtained. The simulation results show that the specific aperture mode dispersion compensator can effectively improve the performance of the transmission system with tapered multimode fiber as the medium.(2) The feasibility of space division multiplexing of the ordinary tapered multimode fiber is studied. The mode coupling in optical fiber space division multiplexing is analyzed and studied by using the modified ray theory. The interference of multimode fiber mode division multiplexing mode and the influence on the transmission are analyzed in detail. The simulation results show that the ordinary tapered multimode fiber can’t be implemented in the line.(3) Simulation and Experimental research on the propagation characteristics of the single mode optical fiber time division multiplexing signal transmitting in multimode optical fiber. The simulation results show that when the transmission distance is less than 100 m, the signal produced by 10GHz mode-locked fiber laser is substantially no diffusion occurs, and the spot size is about 130% of the original spot when the transmission distance is 500m.Experimental results show that the single-mode OTDM signal after 100m Gigabit multimode fiber transmission,80 GB/s OTDM signal of sidetracking well were not observed obvious dispersion induced pulse broadening.
