The mobile communication technology in our country has entered a high-speed stability stage. Serve as the most widespread and stable communication mode, the 3G wireless communication technique is developed rapidly and its applications are also grown up quickly. The conventional monitoring systems of temperature and humidity are realized by industrial field bus, which has many shortcoming:the troublesome arrangement of wire, complex structure and large changes of field apparatus. In this thesis, in order to break through the traditional communication method, the 3G technology is used to realize the remote monitoring of humiture.Firstly, the current development situation of 3G technology in our country is introduced briefly, and the relative merits of three 3G technology standards are compared. The overall design scheme of remote temperature and humidity monitoring system is presented out based on 3G wireless communication, and the feasibility demonstration and the technical characteristics of this scheme are also given out.Secondly, according to the system requirement of overall design scheme, the hardware circuit of remote temperature and humidity monitoring system is designed using the 3G wireless communication technology and ARM processor. The core hardware interface circuit and data collection circuit of humiture are also presented. Then, the embedded Linux operation system is moved into an ARM-based hardware system, and the corresponding application software is exploited too. Finally, the temperature and humidity collecting circuit,3G wireless communication circuit and remote monitoring system are set up integrately. The function and performance testing are conducted through system debugging, the testing results verify the reasonability and practicability of the 3G-based remote monitoring system.
