With the increasingly development of the manufacture, the workpieces which produced by manufactories have some errors with the master workpieces[1]. The errors are known as geometric tolerance, and run-out is included in geometric tolerance. Run-out is studied on starting late in domestic, but in recent years it has been used in many industries. A method is designed to measure radial run-out. Traditional measurement is using contact measurement,and the measurement process require manual reading, and calculation, which has measurement error and is less-automated method. To improve the efficiency of measurement, a technical detecting system of the radial run-out is designed in this paper.In this paper, the principle and designing process of radial run-out measurement is introduced, including controlling system design and monitoring software design. Firstly,according to performance index and requirements of the run-out detecting system, scheme is designed. Then, researchers need select the equipment on the base of the scheme. Finally,researchers design the measuring mechanism and controlling systems, to reach real-time dynamic measurements during rotation of the rotor. The hardware of this system main control the inverter to drive the motor rotates via controller unit. Germany Mar digital indicators and eddy current sensors are used as the detector unit, capturing rotor run-out signal and signal processing to the controller unit. The software of system bases on Siemens programming software for data acquisition and data conversion, and WinCC software monitor real-time data,graphics and text displayed to the user, saving the data in the computer.The rotor run-out detection system, eliminating the high personnel and accidental errors caused by reading errors, and improving automation and intelligence, is simple to operate. The accuracy of system can be achieved 10 m, to meet the initial design requirements.
