With the increasing of the aging population, our country has entered the aging society and the situation is more and more serious. And due to traffic accidents, strange diseases or other causes, the number of people who need caring is becoming more and more. However, in modern times, with the rapid development of the global economy, people call for high-quality caring. So it has become an urgent social problem to provide better care for them and protect their privacy to lead them a happy life.In response to the problem, an intelligent nursing robot was designed in this paper. It is used with the nursing bed or bed to provide functions of urine and stool washing, body private parts cleaning, warm wind drying, bidirectional sides turning over for patients lying in bed. Nurses or patients themselves can choose automatic model or manual model according to their actual needs, meanwhile, with voice broadcasting system and LCD displaying module, the robot is full of humanness.Firstly, on the basis of market survey, the general design scheme of robot was determined. According to the characteristics of service objects and related design standards of service robot, design principles, functional requirements and design indexes of the robot were completed. After discussion, the robot design scheme and the overall control system design scheme were completed.Secondly, design and finite element analysis of the robot body were completed. on the premise of consulting relevant data and market survey, the detailed analysis and design about the subject of urine and stool process, side turning over mechanism and control box were presented, finite element analysis on side turning over mechanism and some important components of the control box were also presented by using Pro/Mechanica. In order to prevent leaking, the sealing design of nursing robot was added.Thirdly, hardware circuit design were completed. ATmegal28 was used as the main controller, and the detailed analysis and design of function module, power module, sensor module and man-machine interaction module were completed, and all circuits have good performance.Finally, software design, system debugging and properties testing of robot were completed; main program and all subroutines were designed with the thought of modularization thinking; stability of the control system was improved from hardware and software aspects. The intelligent nursing robot was built as the platform to debugging and properties testing, the test results show that the performances of intelligent nursing robot reach the expected requirements.
