The rapid development of mobile Internet has boosted up the need for location-based service. In the outdoor, GPS-based location service is the very mature and could satisfy outdoor need. However, GPS could not obtain high accuracy for indoor positioning. Thus,WIFI-based wireless indoor positioning technology emerges. With an increasing number of WIFI hotspots widely deployed, WIFI-based positioning method becomes cheaper and easier to implement. As a result, software enabled WIFI-based positioning is developing fast.Based on sufficiently study of the WIFI indoor positioning technology, we chose fingerprint-based wireless positioning technology and research on several algorithms of RSSI positioning. This included NN, KNN and WKNN. After understanding their relationship and pros and cons of each algorithm, we selected WKNN algorithm for the fingerprint-based wireless positioning technology.Then we established a framework for positioning system and researched on the best mobile software for it. By studying the mainstream smart phone operation system, Android was used. Thus the software that enabled fingerprint-based wireless positioning technology was designed to fit into Android framework. The software was programmed by JAVA.Finally, we set up three different positioning environments to test the positioning system。The results are compared with the actual position coordinates and we analyze the reasons of the difference between the 3 environments。...
