The channel simulation technology of the mobile communication network was researched in this paper. The mobile wireless communication network is mainly used by the tactical communications. The mobile channel models and simulation research which involve in microwave and antenna theory, communication theory, and processes theory. Microwave theory describes the nature of the radio propagation. The signals loss in the propagation process must exist, and these include the absorption of free electrons and ions in the ionosphere, oxygen and water vapor molecules in the troposphere, and absorption and scattering of clouds, fog, rain, snow, etc. The extents of the losses include in the quality of beam elevation, climate, frequency which affects the propagation quality of the signal in the wireless channel. The simulation techniques introduce the electromagnetic wave propagation, the rain attenuation principle, mainly used for the analysis of the various factors in the wireless communication channel. Though STK simulation software, setting the actual satellite orbital parameters that include altitude and inclination, the satellite orbit was built. Though analyzing the strength of the impact that these factors on the channel, the satellite orbit was imported in OPNET simulation platform. To build a simulation model, based on the characteristics of the environment, including the design of the network model, node models and process models. Then complete the simulation research about the propagation characteristics of the satellite channel communications and system performance for Ka-band rain attenuation.This paper used ITR-U rain attenuation model, according to the calculation of rain attenuation values, rainfall intensity, rain attenuation rate and other factors. Due to ITR-U rain attenuation model, joining with some new factors which include the raindrop size, clouds and atmospheric absorption, the effect scales of these factors were analyzed and researched either in this paper. The channel simulation model of Ka-band satellite communication based on OPNET platform was built. The results showed that high precision and validity of new model were significantly improved, through the simulation experiments.
