In recent years, our country has adopted the no-parking overweight detecting system on the expressway to control the vehicle overweight problems, which has made significant achievement. However, there are still very a few problems. The low rate of the detecting system causes the traffic jam at the entry. The poor universality of the system software leads to the extra work of designing different software versions for different instruments. And the traditional nine-picture system only demonstrates nine vehicles simultaneously, failing to handle the increasing traffic flow.To solve the problems above, the double-lane no-parking detecting system is designed and demonstrated in this paper. In this system, the software is written based on Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 and the backstage data base Microsoft SQL Server 2000. The Winsock method is applied to transmit data and pictures, enabling them to transmit quickly and match each other accurately between the client computer and the server computer and therefore improving the stability of the software and the detecting rate. The dynamic link library(DLL) used to deal with the weighing data is based on Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and combines the multithreading technique and Windows message mechanism, increasing the real-time and the activeness performances and the universality of the software collecting the weighing data. The axle-type identification subsystem is designed with applying the expert system, thus creating the identifying way according to axle type different from the traditional axle-number identification, which is able to detect the overweight state more accurately.The following are the achievements completed in this paper:That is expatiated in the first part of the paper is the background of the overweight detecting system and its current researching situation at home and abroad. And based on the designing requirement and principles of the detecting system, the instrument of the double-lane no-parking overweight system is completed. It also makes an introduction of the function, the working procedures and the major devices of the client and the server of the system.What follows in the next part is the design ideas and the specific practicing methods of each function module. It also expatiates the software of the system, including the weighing DLL, the vehicle axle-type identification subsystem, the data and pictures collecting subsystem on the client computer, the data and pictures sending subsystem on the client computer, the data and pictures reception subsystem on the server computer, the charging and passing cards leading subsystem on the server and the passage order on the outdoor screen subsystem.The third part is about the system data base, which mainly includes the real-time data table on the client, the system parameter setting table on the client, the real-time data table on the server, the lane deploying table on the server and the picture reception table on the server.The last part focuses on the practical applying results and some points needed to amend and perfect in the system.The practice has proved that the double-lane no-parking overweight detecting system is of high real-time performance, universality and reliability and can fix the problem of the mismatch between the picture and the data of the vehicle. The system also accelerates the detecting rate from the two aspects of data and pictures transmission and the data transmission of the outdoor screen, therefore, improving the traffic situation at the entry and making a great contribution to solving the overweight problem.
