Terahertz wave refers to the frequency of electromagnetic wave in 0.1~10 THz, it covers the sub millimeter and far infrared regions, with sub millimeter wave high resolution and good penetration of the infrared wave. Due to the short wavelength, high frequency and large bandwidth of terahertz, so it has a high resolution and Doppler effect, which makes terahertz radar system is very suitable for high resolution radar imaging and small target detection. Terahertz radar system is an important direction of the terahertz technology and the main performance indicators for the terahertz radar system plays a decisive role, so the design of the terahertz radar system of superior performance is of great significance.The work of this thesis is as follows:firstly, carries on the demand analysis of the terahertz radar system, the analysis of function requirement analysis and performance requirements including transmitter and receiver, and emphatically introduces the development trend of solid state transmitter and its advantages; Secondly, research the terahertz radar system structure scheme. The scheme is based on present situation of terahertz technology in the structure of the traditional radar system and puts forward the realization scheme of coherent structure system for the non-related dual source, and take "direct mixing type" at the front end of the receiver; Finally, select the relevant device for this system based on the scheme of system structure in front of the terahertz radar system, including mixer, multiplier, band-pass filter, power amplifier for the verification of the plan, zhen carries on the simulation to the scheme with ADS software.
