Design And Implementation Of Communication System Based On SCA And USRP

In recent years, as the rapidly development of software radio technology, software defined radio has become the development direction of wireless communications field, which will cause a revolution in both military and commercial areas. Software communications architecture(SCA) specification has been widely used to realize software radio’s intelligenence, standardization and platformization, so that it obtained widely approval by various standards organizations. This paper designed the communication system, and its system architecture is based on the SCA specification. The thesis studied the implement method of the SCA specification, and explored the improvements and the new features of SCA4.0 specification which is released recently.Universal software radio peripheral(USRP) includes the motherboard and sub board, while the motherboard complete signal conversion between baseband and IF, and sub board complete signal conversion between IF and RF. When set up communication system software platform in this paper, USRP logical device component is used to configure and drive USRP hardware platform, so that the relatively low price of USRP device can be used in the software radio system which is meet the SCA specification.This paper develops a communication system based on SCA and USRP, combining the advantages of SCA system and USRP hardware. This paper makes following contributions:1. To explore the key technology specification in software defined radio(SDR) and their realization methods. Firstly, this paper introduced the composition of JTRS APIs specification and its normally API functions which are crucial for system’s portability and reusability in SDR. Then we elaborated the realization method of SCA specification and explored the improvements and the new features of SCA4.0 specification released recently, which has great guiding significance for the construction of the communication system based on the SCA specification in the future.2. Design the hardware and software platform of communication system based on SCA and USRP. The hardware platform consists of terminal PC and general software radio peripherals(USRP), and the USRP is composed by USRP N210 motherboard and SBX RF sheet. Software platform followed the SCA specification and JTRS APIs specification to set up, mainly relates to the optimization design of CORBA middleware,the core framework function module, the design of device and service components and the design of waveform application components.3. Complete the design of device component of communication system based on SCA and USRP. At first, this paper puts forward the design method of SCA logical device components, and then introduces the specific implementation of Ethernet device, USRP device and CPU device in the communication system based on SCA and USRP.4. Testing the communication system based on SCA and USRP. This paper sets up the experimental platform of the communication system based on SCA and USRP, and QPSK modulation baseband signal used in the communication systems, finally uses the communication systems’ s experimental platform to transfer data and audio,then demonstrated the validity of the system design.
