Eyeprint ID Biometric System Performance Testing And Reporting

Currently there are several mobile on the market launched with biometric technology including fingerprint, iris recognition and so on. Biometric technology is no longer a fancy thing that just appears in those Hollywood movies, it has already walked in to our daily life.This paper studied this new biometric technology-Eyeprint IDTM’s accuracy level and security level. Eyeprint ID is a biometric technology based on eye veins as a unique identify. It has already been launched on mobile phones inside and outside the country.The main work of this paper is to test and report the performance of Eyeprint ID from the two aspects:accuracy and security, to validate if it has fingerprint level accuracy and if it has robust spoof detection to prevent image and video replay attacks. In section 4, this paper proved that Eyeprint ID’s accuracy level is higher than face recognition, and it has the same level as fingerprint recognition accuracy. In section 5, this paper proved that Eyeprint ID has spoof detection mechanism that can prevent most of attacks from 1080P video or photo taken by self phone. However, it has weakness in prevent the attacks from photos and videos taken by high end digital camera. Currently the spoof detection methods are still early, and it is a big challenge for any biometric system, Eye Verify is planning to release methods that will address high quality video and photo soon.
