Design And Implementation Of Library Management System Based On RFID Technology

Library management system is an important part of intelligent office systems(IOA), which has the convenient and fast advantages in borrowing books. It is slowly walking into the modern people’s lives, and gradually replaces the traditional manual management and simple computer library management. The mode of library management is changing from manual management to computer management, which embodies intelligent management and information management of books. The main features of library management system are as follows: improve efficiency, reduce staff burden, reduce the probability of error, have obvious advantages and so on. So that readers can use less time to accurately obtain, understand, and access the required information. It can save time and improve reading effect. The changing of reading model is significant progress of books management. Radio frequency identification technology(FRID) is one of automatic identification technology, which can identify and recognize the detected object through non-contact two-way data communication way. It has many advantages, for example fast recognition process, without wear and tear, non-polluting and long life, by means of which it can improve inspection efficiency and save valuable time of readers. The new convenient and effective way of borrowing books must be accepted by people, and change the concept of readers.This thesis mainly introduces and discusses the RFID technology and the application of the technology, and then applies the RFID technology for the library management, and achieves good results. After comparing the advantages and disadvantages of different automatic identification technologies, this thesis uses SQL Server 2008 database as the background database, and uses Visual C# programming language as the development tool to implement library management system. After further testing and application, this thesis successfully completes the functions of library management system, including library management, loan management, reader management, smart card management, user management and so on. The library management system achieves maintenance and management of an intelligent system. Meanwhile it can reduce the workload of librarians, release a large number of manual operations for administrator, and offer great convenience for borrowing books and management books.After running and testing of system, the final results showed that the library management system can easily meet the borrowing needs of students and readers, as well as meet the operational needs of the librarian. It can connect borrowing and management, and then realize some purpose and benefit of this thesis, such as: convenience of the loan, easy management, accurate record, efficient work, the error reduction and so on. Through putting this system into practice, it can meet the requirements of research and design, and also be worthy of promotion and application for other libraries and bookshops.
