With the development of information technology, the library is impacted by the wave of information technology and internet revolution as a gathering place of knowledge and information. With the increase in the number of books and readers, traditional books location information cannot meet the demand of readers to find efficient access to books. Especially in the university library with high visit volume, readers’disorderly books placing led to the phenomenon that books’actual location are not consist with their location information. In order to meet readers’demand to find their books conveniently and efficiently, establishing real-time positioning system of the books is very necessary.In this paper, referring to the current library book management style on the basis of embedded ARM, RFID and ZIGBEE technology we propose book positioning system design based on RFID. In this design, the RFID reader acquires passive electronic tag information in the book then transfer the data into the ARM processor through ZIGBEE wireless data transmission network, at last improved LANDMARC system obtained real-time location information of the books through nearest neighbor algorithm according to processing the data. In order to establish friendly man-machine interface, LCD display function is also designed in the system to show the final book location information.The paper gives detailed analysis and introduction of library books Positioning System from three aspects. First, introduced the system implementations plan of hardware platforms, including ARM9center processor and peripheral hardware module selection, the selection of the RFID reader and electronic tags, establishment of wireless data transmission network; Second, the existing RFID indoor positioning algorithm is analyzed and summarized, using the localization algorithm mature the nearest neighbor algorithms of LANDMARC system to positioned books. Accuracy book positioning is required in the library environment, so this paper improves the nearest neighbor algorithm and expounds how to improve the workflow of nearest neighbor algorithm as well as the MATLAB simulation process and simulation results prove that the improved algorithm can obtain a higher position accuracy; at last we describe development and debugging process of the system software, which includes:the building of ARM9embedded software system, the development of wireless data transmission applications, the development of ARM processor-side application on Books positioning and LCD interface display program.The book, positioning system of libarary based on RFID in this paper, not only could be positioning books accurately and real-timely, but also the information of books could be transmited by the wireless network that reduced the unnecessary waste of the hardware. The system is suitable for the university libaraies and other small and medium-sized libraries.
